A doctor may order a kidney profile if a patient has risk factors for kidney disease, such as:
diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, obesity, elevated cholesterol, and family history of kidney disease.
A doctor may also order a kidney profile if a patient has symptoms of kidney disease, such as: Blood in the urine, Painful urination, Frequent urge to urinate, and Problems starting to urinate.
